YouTube: Advantages and Disadvantages

YouTube is a website owned by Google in which the public can post videos relating to pop culture, home videos, news stories, or whatever else. You Tube can be found at http://www.youtube.com. What I believe to be the advantages and disadvantages of you tube are listed below.

Disadvantages of YouTube:

• Less control over copyrighted videos.
• Privacy is inhibited. (anyone may post videos regardless of consent)
• Posters do not always follow "content rules". Therefore, some videos may be offensive to the public.
• Since anyone can post a video, the quality of the video cannot be garaunteed.
• Unintended celebrity status. Millions of people view these videos, and participants of the video may unitentional claim celebrity status whether positive or negative.

Advantages of YouTube:

• Information is easily accessible on YouTube
• You can use videos from YouTube to help dress up school presentations.
• It is possible to find news articles on YouTube.
• How To... videos can be found easily.
• Easily accessible by simply having access to the internet.
